Managing multiple calendars can feel like juggling flaming swords — especially when you’re balancing a Google Workspace calendar for work, a personal Gmail calendar, and maybe even a shared family calendar.

The good news? Dubsado can check all of those calendars for availability — if you set it up correctly. In this post, I’ll walk you through exactly how to bring multiple Google calendars into Dubsado so your schedulers never double-book you again. (Check out the step-by-step YouTube tutorial at the end of this blog!)

Why You Might Need Multiple Google Calendars in Dubsado

This setup is perfect if:

  • You use Google Workspace for work
  • You have a personal Gmail calendar for life stuff
  • You share a family or partner calendar
  • You want Dubsado to check everything before allowing clients to book

Dubsado can only connect to one Google account login, but here’s the workaround that makes everything talk to each other seamlessly.

Step 1: Share Your Additional Google Calendars

Start inside Google Calendar.

For each calendar you want Dubsado to consider:

  1. Open Settings & Sharing for that calendar
  2. Add the email address tied to the Google account you’ll connect to Dubsado
  3. Grant full permissions (make changes and manage sharing)
  4. Accept the invite

Once accepted, that calendar will appear under “My Calendars” in Google — even though it technically belongs to a different account.

Repeat this process for:

  • Personal calendars
  • Partner or spouse calendars
  • Any shared family calendars you want included

Step 2: Re-Sync Google Calendar Inside Dubsado

Now head to Dubsado → Settings → Calendar Settings.

If you already had a calendar connected:

  • Revoke the existing calendar connection
  • Reconnect your Google account

When you reconnect, Dubsado will now see all the shared calendars you just added.

Step 3: Choose What to Import vs Export

Inside calendar settings, you’ll see toggles for each calendar.

Here’s the recommended setup:

  • Import events from all personal, family, and shared calendars
  • 🚫 Export Dubsado events to only one primary work calendar

This ensures:

  • Dubsado checks everything you’re doing
  • Client bookings stay clean and centralized
  • Your personal calendars don’t get cluttered with client events

Step 4: Turn On Date Conflict Checking

This step is crucial.

Go to Settings → General Settings and make sure:

  • Date Conflicts is turned ON

This tells Dubsado to check all imported calendars before confirming any new appointment, proposal date, or scheduled event.

If you have multiple brands inside Dubsado, you can also enable cross-brand availability — otherwise, you’re good to go.

What About Google Family Calendars?

If you’re using Google’s newer Family Sharing feature and events aren’t appearing in Dubsado, you still have options.

You can:

  • Create a dedicated “My Calendar” inside Google
  • Use an automation (like Zapier) to copy new events from the family calendar into that calendar

This ensures all future events are visible to Dubsado — even if past events won’t sync retroactively.

I recommend pairing this with an automation-based workflow if your family calendar is heavily used.

Final Thoughts

Once this is set up, Dubsado becomes a true availability gatekeeper — protecting your time across work, personal, and family life.

No more double booking.
No more explaining why you can’t make a call during school pickup.
And no more manual calendar juggling.

With systems (and a touch of magic) on your side.
