If you opened Dubsado 3.0 and immediately felt like someone rearranged your entire kitchen while you were asleep — I get it completely.
The icons changed. The navigation shifted. The terminology is slightly different in places. At first glance, it feels like a lot. But nothing is actually gone. Everything you knew how to do in 2.0 still exists. It just moved.
So before you switch, let me walk you through what actually changed — and flag the one thing you really don’t want to miss.
The dashboard looks different (and you can customize it now)
The 3.0 dashboard is genuinely more customizable than 2.0. You can set it up to show exactly what you want to see at a glance, which is a nice upgrade once you stop panicking about where everything went.
The bigger adjustment is the icons. The sidebar icons for things like canned emails, smart fields, and forms have all changed. If you’re used to muscle memory from 2.0, expect to spend a few minutes relearning where your eyes go. It’s not permanent confusion — it just takes a little time to rewire.
The reassuring part: your templates, your workflows, your canned emails, your forms — none of that went anywhere. Nothing was deleted in the migration. If something feels missing, it’s almost certainly still there, just under a different icon.
How adding things to projects works now
In 2.0, you added forms, schedulers, and workflows to a project in a specific spot. In 3.0, those buttons live in different places within the project view. If you’re hunting for where to apply a workflow or attach a form and you can’t find it, check the top right area of the project view first — that’s where a lot of the action buttons have moved.
It’s a small shift, but it’s one of the most common “wait, where did that go?” moments I hear about from people making the switch.
The scheduler setting you actually need to check
This one matters, so stick with me.
In Dubsado 3.0, the scheduler now automatically sends your client a calendar invite when they book. That’s great — it’s one less manual step, and clients appreciate the confirmation.
The catch: Dubsado sends that invite based on how many calendars you’ve exported your scheduler to. If you’ve connected your Dubsado scheduler to multiple calendars (say, both your Google Calendar and iCloud), your client gets a separate invite for each one. So instead of one clean calendar confirmation, they get two or three duplicates hitting their inbox.
The fix is simple: only export your scheduler to one calendar. Go into your scheduler settings and check how many it’s connected to. If there are multiple, remove all but one. Do that before you start sending clients through your booking flow in 3.0, and you’ll save yourself some awkward “I got three calendar invites from you” conversations.
This is also a good reason to test your full booking flow from the client side before going live — open an incognito window, fill out your own form, book a slot, and see exactly what lands in your inbox. If you want a more structured approach to getting your Dubsado set up correctly, starting with a playbook is a solid move.
If something feels broken, report it
Dubsado 3.0 is still being refined. If something in your setup is behaving strangely and you’ve double-checked the basics, it may genuinely be a bug rather than user error.
Dubsado has a built-in chatbot called Dubbie — you can report issues directly through it. The team actually uses those reports to identify and fix problems, so don’t just close the tab and walk away. A quick bug report helps everyone.
One thing to do before you switch
Go check your scheduler’s calendar export settings right now. How many calendars is it connected to? If it’s more than one, fix that first. It takes two minutes and will save you from a pretty avoidable client experience hiccup once you’re live in 3.0.
If you’re in the middle of the switch and something isn’t working the way it should, or you’d just like someone to walk through 3.0 with you before you rebuild anything — grab a free clarity call and we’ll look at it together. You can also check out how Dubsado workflows are structured if you want to get oriented before we chat.
The switch feels bigger than it is. Once you spend a few hours in the new interface, it clicks. I promise.
With systems and a touch of magic on your side, Lauren ✨
